Ground Granulated BF Slag

Ground granulated blast furnace slag commonly known as GGBFS / GGBS is obtained by grinding granulated Blast Furnace Slag. Granulated blast furnace slag is obtained by processing the molten slag by rapidly chilling or quenching with water or steam.Blast furnace slag is a non-metallic product consisting essentially of glass containing silicates and Alumino Silicates of lime and other bases, which is developed simultaneously with iron in blast furnace. GGBFS / GGBS is a latent hydraulic binder forming calcium silicate hydrates after contact with water. It is a strength-enhancing compound that improves the durability of concrete. It is a component of metallurgic cement. Its main advantage is its slow release of hydration heat, allowing limitation of the temperature increase in massive concrete components and structures during cement setting and concrete curing, or to cast concrete during hot summer. Our GGBS product conforms to the Bureau of Indian standard IS 16714 : 2018. Overall, GGBS usage brings in strong, durable and cost effective solution to construction Industry.
