Granulated Blast Furnace Slag

When the molten slag is chilled very rapidly either by pouring into a significant excess of water or by subjecting the slag stream to jets of water, the quenching breaks up the material into small particles, solidifies into granules structure similar to coarse sand aggregates refer to as granulated slag, and can be used as fine aggregates in concrete production.
